Ron and Pat Morse January 2010 Report
We have been reading and hearing about the various inundations of snow that have been received in many parts of the East coast regions. We wonder how this tallies with the much talked about “global warming” that seems to be of great concern, esp. to politicians. As God’s children, we must be concerned for the proper use of resources and become more careful of our planet. The air, the land, the water – all are vital to our well-being, and we must all do our part to conserve and recycle as well as protect strategic national/world treasures like the remaining rain forests. Yet it seems there are conflicting interests among the elite in this matter, and some seem to be pushing this for various other agendas as well. But it is true that we must be good stewards! On our local front we have had a great beginning of the New Year! Not only did our 3-month Bible school term (new year) start with over 30 students (an increase) but we also had 7 couples of our NBCM board visited us for the once-in-5-years on the field Board Meeting. Over 2 weeks time, we had wonderful fellowship, visiting mission work areas and a time for reporting and updating. During their time here, they also had occasion to pray for a number of sick folks in the villages, attend a baptismal for a new believer who used to be a shaman, and speak at Sunday services for the Lisu brethren here. We are greatly uplifted by their visit here and our vision for what needs to be done here and the mandate for ministry is still unwavering. We have all been encouraged through their visit to continue to move steadily ahead with even greater intensity and fervor with His help. If you have any questions to ask them in regard to their perspective on the work here, or about ourselves and what we are doing, please contact them and ask them. All questions can be directed to them through our Gen.FA/Treasurer Doris Farmer ( This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it ). In our attached news update, we have shared about our upcoming plans for this FALL-WINTER season of 2010. Our daughter Sarah will graduate from High School in June (last of our 3 kids) and will be starting college in Tulsa OK this fall. We will need to be back to get her set up for college and complete arrangements for her schooling as we have no other closer family there who can help do this. We will take this time to also spend a few months through the Fall and Winter to revisit and share with as many of you as we can. Right now we still have many dates open for scheduling to speak and visit with as many churches and mission teams as we can, not only on weekends, but even during weekdays. We hope to start our visits in the MO-OK-AR area in late August and September, and then schedule farther out (this is the general plan anyway!). To schedule a visit please email us and also Gary Wheat (or call) at the information below: Gary Wheat – 417-624-2518 ext 2010 (at Ozark Chr. College, daytime) Email: This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it Ron and Pat Morse – This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. We will usually be gone most of the time as we travel, but we will need to be back, in and out, and need a place we can unwind between traveling, as well as a place to get much writing and other mission business taken care of. We could split our time as well, part of this being in Tulsa , some of the time in Joplin . We do not want to be a burden or imposition on anyone for long periods of time, but we need some space we can use without overly disturbing others! (We too, need some “down” time!). We hope to also have this space as a point of contact for our kids over Christmas this next year, as they will need a place to stay over that 2+ weeks of the Christmas season. If you have, or know of anyone who has such a space, please let us know details of space, time, cost etc., as we begin to plan for that period of time up ahead. Finally, please take a few moments to read and view the attached current update news – pictures - from us. With warm regards for you, our extended family, Ron and Pat Morse and the family |
